Cheating is when a student uses fraudulent means to obtain answers in order to achieve academic success. It consists in using the support documents defended during an evaluation. This practice leads to a downgrading of the learner's skills. So how does this practice manifest itself? Indeed, this phenomenon is made possible through consultations or the use of prohibited documents, illicit communication, connection to the Internet, mutual aid or the use of cheat sheets during the evaluation. The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of cheating on the learner's academic skills. To this end, it examines the student's performance following a cheating operation. This leads to an assessment of the performance and abilities of the cheating learner. By its nature, this study is part of a socio-psychological perspective. It is based on a field survey conducted in the city of N'Djamena supported by a documentary survey, which provides the data necessary for the analysis.
