The objective of the research was to develop didactic strategies focused on the sacred narratives of the Kankuamo people that consolidate the reading comprehension of third and fourth grade students of the Institución Educativa Promoción Social Guatapurí-Chemesquemena, Cesar. Methodologically, the work was framed in the qualitative approach, in the modality of applied research. The population consisted of third and fourth grade students. The techniques used for the collection of information were the field diary and the observation log. On the other hand, it takes up the Kankuamo Educational Order (Makú Jogúki) from which the Educational Model emerges, thus constituting an element of cultural order that includes the cosmovision, spirituality, the social and pedagogical component of the Kankuamo People that takes into account the community construction of knowledge and the thought that has as reference the pedagogy of the council centered on the wisdom of the elders, where the preservation of the culture is mainly immersed.
