About the author










John Kinsella's most recent volumes of poetry include Drowning in Wheat: Selected Poems 1980-2015 (Picador, 2016), Insomnia (Picador, 2019; WW Norton, 2020), and Brimstone: Villanelles (Arc, 2020). He is also the author of numerous works of fiction, memoir and criticism, and a frequent collaborator with other poets, critics, artists and musicians. Peepal Tree have published the cycle of works he as co-written with Kwame Dawes. He is a Fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge, and Emeritus Professor of Literature and Environment at Curtin University, Western Australia. His many prizes and awards include the Australian Prime Minster's Award for Poetry, the Christopher Brennan Award for Lifetime Achievement in poetry, as well as PBS special commendations, recommendations and a choice for Armour (Picador, 2011). He is a well-known environmental, human and animal rights activist.
