About the author










Donald J. Greiner holds the chair of Carolina Distinguished Professor of English at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he also serves as associate provost and dean of undergraduate academic affairs. The author of more than a dozen books on such writers as Frederick Busch, Robert Frost, and John Hawkes, he is the preeminent scholar of John Updike, about whom he has published three books. Greiner has won both the University Award for Outstanding Teaching and the University Award for Distinguished Research at the University of South Carolina. He lives in Columbia.
