Early Childhood Caries (ECC) can be a particularly aggressive form of caries, which begins after tooth eruption, progresses on smooth surfaces, develops rapidly and has a lasting negative influence on the dentition. Particular emphasis is placed on parental involvement in oral health care, as it is mainly related to parental oral hygiene behaviors, transmission of information and motivation in the early years of their children's life. Therefore, the objective was to determine the competencies of parents in the oral health care of their preschool children, as well as the influence of socioeconomic level on such competencies.
