The study presented in this book aimed to know and understand the experiences and meanings of working for people with visual impairment (PCDV). Based on the epistemological basis of social constructionism, considering the centrality of work in a person's life and from the perspective of the Theory of Work Psychology (TPT), the qualitative study heard, through semi-structured interviews, people with visual impairment about their experiences of working. The narratives allowed us to identify the social, educational, and relational factors of the insertion in the work and the meanings of working. Through the model proposed by TPT, the study contributed to understanding the experiences of working and to identifying the compatibility of the work done by PCDV with the concept of decent work. The contributions of this study can assist in propositions of public and educational policies and contribute to researchers and professional and career counselors can reflect, in their working practices, on relational and contextual issues that involve the choice and professional development and work of PWD.
