The overall focus of The Seven Games of Leadership is simple: the disruptive moment in which we find ourselves living - the combined effect of the fourth industrial revolution, climate change, political divisions/fake news, Covid 19, wealth distribution, immigration, and so on - demands that we are our own agents of change. We can start our own revolutions in order to live the most rewarding lives possible - we just need to know how to do it. It is about caring about ourselves (so prioritising self-care), caring about the people around us, and caring about our jobs and careers - not simply as a source of income but as an engine for a larger purpose and change, both personal and professional. The overall objective is allow people to identify and find a role/job that is more effectively aligned, not only with their individual values (already discussed in the author''s previous book, The Compass & the Radar ), but with a broader purpose centred on a wider sense of humanity and building sustainable prosperity for all. If we have learned anything from the pandemic, it is the importance of being part of a community, the need to avoid isolation and - given the complexity of the problems we face - the need to develop self-care, contextual intelligence and collaboration.
