About the author

Gary R. Gray, Jr. is from Preston, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is an international educator who has taught in five different countries. He currently teaches third grade at the United Nations School in Hanoi. He graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a bachelor of arts and earned a bachelor of education/master of education from St. Francis Xavier University. His debut picture book, I’m From, is illustrated by Caldecott winner Oge Mora. He invites you to visit his website at garyrgrayjr.com.
Oge Mora graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in illustration. Her debut picture book, Thank You, Omu!, was a Caldecott Honor Book, a New York Times Notable Book and Editors’ Choice, and a Junior Library Guild selection. She is also the author-illustrator of Saturday as well as the illustrator of The Oldest Student: How Mary Walker Learned to Read.
