Traditional harmony places special emphasis on the constructions that comfortably adapt to our cultural expectations, leaving aside everything that does not respond to that particularity of experience. This is the method of philosophical empiricism. In this book, on the other hand, emphasis is placed on the scientific method. The musical notes written on the staff are a representation without objectivity, so the author bases the analysis on the frequencies and the subjective mechanisms linked to their perception. Since these are measurable physical facts and universal psychological responses, the objectivity necessary to overcome the deficient nominal interpretations of musical harmony is thus achieved.
