The work took place in the upper course of Piranhas River, between the municipalities of Sousa, Aparecida and Pombal, in the sertão of Paraibano, where the water samples were collected. According to the levels of turbidity and the necessary indices of potability, it was verified that the highest values of turbidity occurred in the month of Jun/22, obtaining in the analysis values between 11.57 NTU to 16.21 NTU and a reduction in the turbidity of the water was observed in the month of Jul/22 with values of 3.2 NTU to 7.8 NTU. Therefore, the quality of the water is within the parameters analyzed and determined by the Resolution of CONAMA no. 357/2005, in other words, the water is of good quality not only for irrigation, but also for human consumption.
