Family law, a constantly evolving field, must be continually revised to take into account social changes, scientific progress and even legislative developments at the community level. In Cameroon, except for Law n° 2022/014 of 14 July 2022 on medically assisted procreation which takes into account scientific progress in the field of filiation, no legislative modification has been made since 1981, date of entry into force of Ordinance n° 81/02 of 29 June 1981 on the organization of civil status and various provisions relating to the status of natural persons. However, family relationships have undergone great changes, from the equalization of children's status to the search for their best interests in all matters concerning them. The subject of this research is therefore to show how gradually the axes of the law of filiation must be shifted under the influence of the principles of equality, truth and interest of the child. Therefore, legislating in this matter appears to be an imperative necessity.
