The study outlines an original concept of value and style to reveal the artistic value of any object of academic music. The book presents the experience of systematic description, aimed at revealing the ontological status of the musical work in its dependence on the thinking style of the creator as an objective factor of meaning-making. Classified types of value approaches in modern musicology. In the search for an objective method of knowledge of musical phenomena proposed method of value analysis, where the central place in the process of reflection takes stylistic attribution. The proposed method has been tested on the example of French composer Louis Vierne's piano music.
