Due to the lack of standardization and objective parameters to establish driving restrictions due to some temporary immobilization in limbs, this book had as objective to evaluate in the world literature and norms that rule the traffic, existing criteria for driving restrictions due to temporary immobilization resulting from musculoskeletal injury in lower and upper limbs. Thus, a critical analysis is made of the existing studies in the literature on the subject, which try to establish parameters for our questioning. Unfortunately, the literature offers no evidence-based guidelines for determining when a patient is ready for driving and we conclude that the studies are crying out for a guideline for orthopedic surgeons to rely on for empirical decisions.
