The Quinoline Chemistry has been concentrated much by the chemists after the identification of quinoline core from quinine. The invention of 'Nalidixic acid' gave impetus to the synthesis of quinoline derivatives. After that a few generations of quinolines were synthesized and thoroughly screened them for their biological activity. Amongst them many are drug in clinical practice. Ciprofloxacin and norflaxacin are commonly used antibiotics. We interested to explore some more new derivatives of quinolones and their biological activities. In this attempt we have presented a considerable number of quinolone derivatives along with their synthesis, characterization and their in vitro biological activity evaluation to cater the interest of chemists.
