About the author










Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Malti Goel is the president of the Climate Change Research Institute from 2016. She has been a CSIR emeritus scientist, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, in the centre for studies in science policy, and a former senior advisor and scientist 'G', Ministry of Science & Technology (MST), the Government of India. She was a designated scientist emeritus, Indian National Science Academy, and a professor (adjunct) Jamia Hamdard University in 2008. Malti was born in Pilani (Rajasthan), India. After her masters' degree in physics with ¿rst rank from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, receiving a gold medal in 1967, she did post M.Sc. DIIT solid state physics with ¿rst rank in 1969 and earned her doctorate in physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, in 1973. Malti Goel conducted pioneering postdoctoral research on polymers and composite dielectrics as a research associate and a scienti¿c pool's of¿cer at IIT Delhi. A receiverof several awards and honours for her accomplishments, Dr. Malti Goel was conferred the Life Time Achievement Award 2016 to recognize her outstanding contributions and achievements in climate change research in India. She is the author and editor of 12 scienti¿c books, 31 book chapters and published nearly three hundred papers in international reputed journals and conferences. Malti Goel became a fellow of the National Environment Science Academy in 2008, and IC Environment and Ecology, Kolkata in 2015. She participated in the first AAAS-TWAS International workshop on "Innovative Energy Policies for a Sustainable Energy Future" in 2013.
