Michael Behrndt, 1953 in Kiel geboren, studierte Pädagogik und Neuere Geschichte und interessiert sich für Motorsport seit der Ära Trips. Stets von seiner Kamera begleitet, hat er unzählige Rennen erlebt, die meisten am Nürburgring, in Spa und in Le Mans. Sein erstes Buch schrieb er mit Jörg-Thomas-Födisch, mit dem er seit 1999 zusammenarbeitet. Er wohnt unweit des Hockenheimrings, ist als Motorjournalist und Fotograf tätig und Mitglied im Verband der Motorjournalisten (VdM).
