Targeting dei farmaci

Le terapie farmacologiche convenzionali soffrono di diverse limitazioni, tra le quali spiccano le alterazioni farmacocinetiche nel sistema biologico, che determinano una minore biodisponibilità nel sito d'azione desiderato. Inoltre, la distribuzione, la biotrasformazione e l'eliminazione indesiderate causano gravi tossicità e un'efficacia terapeutica non ottimale. Il concetto di Targeted Drug Delivery Systems (TDDS) è quindi emerso per limitare queste conseguenze ed esaltare il valore terapeutico del farmaco.
