About the author










Professor Guy N. Rutty MBE FMedSci. Professor of Forensic Pathology, Chief Forensic Pathologist, East Midlands Forensic Pathology Unit, University of Leicester, UK. He is an Honorary Consultant in Histopathology at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. He is the Responsible Officer to the Pathology Delivery Board, Home Office and Department of Justice, Northern Ireland. 
His principal clinical work relates to the provision of forensic pathology services to HM Coroners and police forces of the East Midlands. He also provides forensic pathology services to other police forces of the UK as well as opinion work for both prosecution and defence for solicitors and police forces alike as well as mass disaster services to police forces and countries nationally and internationally. His interests include Forensic pathology, particularly road traffic related fatalities and Post Mortem Computed Tomography Imaging. He is a volunteer pre-hospital emergency doctor associated withthe charity EMICS.
