One of the manifestations of disorders in bone remodeling is periodontal disease, which is often referred to as a "companion" of osteoporosis. Periodontal disease is one of the most important causes of tooth loss. The World Health Organization estimates that periodontal disease affects about half of all adults in the world. Periodontal disease, like its closest "relative" - osteoporosis, has a long time latent and manifests itself suddenly. In our opinion, periodontosis and osteoporosis are the manifestations of osteogenesis disorder developing against the background of deficiency of functional activity of the immune system of the body which leads to osteopathy development. The present publication is a small collection of 7 articles published by the authors, devoted to the issues of immunology, diagnostics and treatment of periodontal diseases, both in the clinic and in the experiment. The book is intended for dentists, immunologists, pediatricians, therapists and a wide range of inquisitive readers.
