Violence and corporal punishment against children and adolescents is a worldwide problem and specifically at the Ecuadorian level that is constantly being debated and that throughout the years and the new generations has been consolidating as a method of upbringing in the home, which beyond its positive or negative implications, has a close relationship with the affective relationships between the adult caregiver and the child. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to analyze the effects on parent-child relationships in adults who have received corporal punishment during childhood, with the aim of highlighting the importance of affective bonds with caregivers during childhood and their relationship in the development of parenthood itself, the ways of thinking, acting and interacting with others.
