When the Coronavirus sent the whole world into lockdown the international and truly-interconnected business of travel was immediately affected.
In many countries people could not leave their homes or local suburbs let alone travel further afield. And, for the first time since cruise liners and aeroplanes began taking passengers to the four corners of the globe, the seas and skies were almost empty.
People everywhere had their holidays, business trips, weddings, birthdays and family reunions cancelled indefinitely.
In March 2020 Roberto Chiesa - a partner in a travel company based in Italy - started an online group aimed at raising the spirits of hundreds of his 'stuck-at-home' tourism colleagues, mostly from Europe and North America, whose other shared connection was that they promoted travel to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
Roberto invited everyone to share their favourite home-made recipes and his 'tourism family' jumped at the chance to stay connected. The online group 'Our Home-Made Recipes in the Time of COVID-19' attracted over 600 members!
With the world finally open again, this book was the natural next step.
Recipe: The world went into lockdown, we went into the kitchen now shares the love of food and friendship that helped keep this 'tourism to Australasia' family connected.
