Chest pain is one of the most common reasons for visiting the emergency department. It is usually part of a characteristic clinical picture but this is not always the case.Establishing the etiological diagnosis is not always easy. Indeed, proving the cardiac origin is a challenge for the clinician who will have to recognize the severity and properly orient the patient. The epidemiological and clinical profile of acute chest pain has been extensively studied in cardiology departments but very little in emergency departments. In Tunisia, the epidemiological and clinical data concerning this entity remain poor and we do not have a register of acute chest pain. The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemiological and clinical profile of acute chest pain in emergency departments and its main etiologies.
