Zusatztext "...intended readers are those responsible for design and operation of electric utility transmission systems...not for the mathematically disadvantaged..." (Electrical Apparatus! October 2001) Informationen zum Autor Lou van der Sluis is a member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. He teaches power systems analysis to undergraduate students, and also tutors practitioners working in the power systems industry. He has authored the book, Transients in Power Systems , which was published by Wiley in 2001, and won the Prize Paper Award from the Power Engineering Education Committee of the IEEE Power Engineering Society. He is a senior member of IEEE and convener of CC-03 of Cigre. His research interests include analyzing the transient recovery voltages in medium and high voltage networks. Zusammenfassung Covering the fundamentals of electrical transients, this book should equip readers with the skills to recognise and solve transient problems in power networks and components, starting with the basics of transient electrical circuit theory. Inhaltsverzeichnis Preface. Basic Concepts and Simple Switching Transients. Transient Analysis of Three-Phase Power Systems. Travelling Waves. Circuit Breakers. Switching Transients. Power System Transient Recovery Voltages. Lightning-Induced Transients. Numerical Simulation of Electrical Transients. Insulation Coordination, Standardisation Bodies, and Standards. Testing of Circuit Breakers. Index....
