This book entitled: "Urban expansion: factors and consequences on the bangs of the Yaoundé 6 District Commune" speaks in general about the disordered character of the expansion of housing on the outskirts of CAY 6. It reports on the causes and consequences of urban expansion in the said Commune, without however forgetting to mention the origin and evolution of this expansion. Starting from the observation that the city of Yaoundé is urbanizing at an unprecedented rate, it attracts a multitude of people who come to populate it. This led to a serious socio-foundational crisis and the city of Yaoundé could no longer accommodate this overflow of population. As a result, the populations that do not have access to serviced areas spread out to the outskirts of the city in a disorderly and uncontrolled manner, nibbling away at the initially rural areas a little more each day. The commune of Yaoundé 6, being an urbanization front of the city of Yaoundé, due to its dynamism and its infrastructure level, is experiencing the same problems. This book proposes to analyze these different problems of urban expansion and to provide strategies for their resolution
