Environmental pollution by pentachlorophenol (PCP) is a major concern worldwide. Microbial bioremediation could be an ecological solution. Experiments to isolate and select competent strains for PCP degradation were conducted using various forest soil suspensions. A study of the diversity of the forest soil was carried out. The main results showed that P6 was able to degrade or transform more than 98% of 640 mg/l PCP after 168 h in mineral salt medium (MSM). Furthermore, the optimal growth conditions optimal growth conditions for P6 in MSM mainly include the range of pH (4 pH 9) and temperature (25 °C < temperature < 30 °C).
