The book is based on the Investments and Securities Act of 2007, which is the latest legislation on Capital Market Practice and Development. It is divided into ten volumes, of which this is the first volume. The objective of writing this book is to bring capital market law to the doorstep of those who are interested in investing in the stock market globally, but with special emphasis on the Nigerian situation. Its prose like style makes it appealing to all investors and not legal minds only. The book apart from encapsulating the legal provisions also aligns it with the practical reality on ground. The historical aspect undoubtedly put the controversy between the origin of Joint Stock Company and trading in securities at the capital market in proper perspectives. It also aligns the legal provisions that are related to the capital market with the capital market law. The analysis of the provisions of the Act and how it can be built upon makes it a compelling read. The book also provokes further debate on how the global world should relate to investment matters and its practice.
