Prepare for a heart-pumping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat! In book two of the Doug Bateman Mystery, things get even more complicated as Detectives Bateman and Quinn tackle two different cases that may be more connected than they initially thought.
When opponents of a resort development on Moosehead Lake in northern Maine start turning up dead, Bateman is called in to investigate. Meanwhile, Quinn is looking into a series of bizarre assaults on women. As they delve deeper into their respective cases, they uncover a complex web of clues that lead them down unexpected paths.
Could the sexual assaults be part of a larger pattern? And are the axe murders of environmentalists really linked to the Moosehead Lake development project? With the help of Emma Lange, a reporter who is renting a room above Greenville's Black Frog Restaurant on Moosehead Lake, Bateman and Quinn must unravel the truth before it's too late.
As the stakes get higher and their personal relationship becomes more complicated, Bateman and Quinn must navigate treacherous waters to solve the cases before more innocent lives are lost.
