Prologues by Dalai Lama XIV and XVII Karmapa XVII are considered the culmination of all the practices and studies of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. The experience of Mahamudra, or «great symbol', is an overwhelming sense of extraordinary clarity, totally open and non-dual. Dzogchen, or «great perfection', constitutes the ultimate teaching for the Nyingma tradition, and also represents the pinnacle of spiritual development. Both paths of meditation emphasize the ultimate state of inner awareness and the clear and luminous nature of the mind. Dzogchen Ponlop, an outstanding representative of the wise lineage of Dzogchen y Mahamudra, presents in this book the the vision and the practices of the two traditions with a pragmatic focus and an informal style. Rinpoché teaches that if we engage in these practices, we can all experience our world more directly.
