Informationen zum Autor Joan Turner is a senior lecturer and Head of the Language Studies Centre at Goldsmiths. She has a broad professional interest in language teaching and learning pedagogies, across the institutional contexts in which they are situated. Her specific research interests are in language and culture in higher education and she has published on intercultural communication, academic literacy, English for Academic Purposes, and conceptual metaphors underpinning rationality in the western academic tradition. Her latest book (under review for Multilingual Matters) is entitled: Languaging in the Academy.
