Poetry. In this collection of poetry, Monty Reid re-creates a year in the life and loss of a marriage. THE LUSKVILLE REDUCTIONS is a long breath of a poem reminding us of the uncanniness of change, those difficult times when awareness is at its height, when savour is really savouring, and when place, in this case a small Quebec town, takes on a personality of its own. These are love poems of extraordinary attention and longing, written in a voice so spare and clear that it's as if the air itself was singing. Monty Reid is the author of thirteen other books including Disappointment Island, which was shortlisted for the Ottawa Book Award and won the 2007 Lampman-Scott Award. Born in Saskatchewan and a longtime resident of Alberta, Reid now lives in Ottawa and works at the Canadian Museum of Nature.
