About the author

Christopher Roberts is an Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has worked with several human rights organizations and mandates, including the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association.
