About the author










Robin Boudreaux is a pianist and composer from New Orleans, Louisiana. His influences include pianists Ellis Marsalis, Herbie Hancock and Andrew Hill, and composers Nikolai Roslavets, Alban Berg and Fartein Valen. He is the author of a large catalog of compositions and is the composer of Suite Katrina: Rebirth in the New Fertile Crescent, An Easter Suite and The Night is Beautiful (for Langston Hughes). He has recorded several albums (as a saxophonist and pianist), including a 2015 recording with the late Ellis Marsalis, Jr. Boudreaux was an honors scholar and a graduate of Southern University's Jazz Institute, under the direction of Alvin Batiste, and the University of New Orleans, where he was Gregory Federico Outstanding Senior in Jazz Studies. He is the father of two, an amateur physics theorist and a licensed teaching artist. He is currently active as a pianist and clinician.
