Expansion planning on the main runway of a regional airport - Applied calculation for runway extension. DE

Over time, airports have undergone changes in order to provide comfort, welfare and safety to passengers. At the prototype regional airport, where our study will focus on, improvements have been made in both airspace and ground space, the rehabilitation of the pavement on the main runway, headways, aprons and taxiways was carried out.In the present project, we are planning the expansion of the main runway of the aforementioned airport, with the objective of supporting future operational changes, as well as to allow for the sheltering of larger and heavier aircraft, which will make possible the introduction of new routes by the airlines.
