Nowadays, due to the use of fossil fuels, environmental pollution, global warming, and rapid resource depletion, the technological advances in modern society have driven the development of a variety of electrochemical power sources, which offer "clean energy". The exponential growth in various portable electronic devices, as well as interest in electric vehicles for clean air, has created intense worldwide activity in electrochemical power sources. Among several existing power sources, supercapacitors are gaining much attention due to their excellent power density along with moderate energy density.The present book describes facile chemical synthesis techniques such as Successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) and chemical bath deposition for preparation of TiO2-RuO2 thin films and study of their supercapacitive behavior. The results presented herein will be useful for scientific community working in field of thin film electrodes for energy storage applications.

Dr. Umakant Mahadev Patil received his Ph.D. in Physics from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India in 2011 under the guidance of Prof. C. D. Lokhande. After his Ph.D., he worked as a Post-doctoral fellow at EWHA woman¿s university, Seoul, South Korea. Also, he worked as KRF-Fellow at Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea.
