This book focuses on the stories of Syrians who have found refuge in Wales, based on their own oral testimonies. They were recorded as part of a research project undertaken by Cardiff University and Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales.

About the author

Originally from Iraq, Angham Abdullah moved to the UK in 2009 for her doctorate in Women's Studies at the University of York. Her research focuses on Iraqi women's narratives of war, displacement, and exile. As a former refugee herself, her role on the Refugee Wales project has been to record and document the oral histories of Syrian refugees in Wales. Chris Weedon is a Professor Emerita at Cardiff University directing the Centre for Critical and Cultural Theory. She was involved in Butetown History & Arts Centre for 26 years and has worked on many community based oral history projects with people from minority communities. Beth Thomas worked for Amgueddfa Cymru for over forty years. Her role as Keeper of History and Archaeology allowed her to play a key part in the redevelopment of St Fagans as a National Museum of History. As a long-standing trustee and former chair of the Oral History Society, she has trained people from all over Wales to collect and archive oral history.
