Statins are widely prescribed for dyslipidemia and for primary and secondary prevention of atheromatous cardiovascular mortality. Statin myopathy is one of the widely described side effects of this drug class. Observations We report 2 observations of muscle toxicity to statins collected in the department of internal medicine of Sfax. Statins widely prescribed in front of the rising rate of dyslipidemia and cardiovascular pathologies are among the most known myotoxic drugs. Statin-related muscle damage is a frequent complication that must be known and sought by the clinician. Its severity varies from simple fatigue or muscle pain to severe rhabdomyolysis. Discontinuation of the statin in question remains the first-line treatment for statin myopathy. Reinforcing dietary hygiene rules by recommending a hypolipid diet, choosing a less myotoxic statin or changing the class of lipid-lowering drug in the event of a formal indication for the latter are measures to be recommended in the management of this complication.
