Alexander McAulay was the first professor of mathematics and physics at the University of Tasmania, Hobart, Tasmania. He was also a proponent of dual quaternions, which he termed "octonions" or "Clifford biquaternions". McAulay was born on 9 December 1863 and attended Kingswood School in Bath.

This book, "Utility of quaternions in physics", by Alexander McAulay, is a replication of a book originally published before 1893. It has been restored by human beings, page by page, so that you may enjoy it in a form as close to the original as possible.
