1944, in remote Idaho, Meiko Briggs and her daughter are sent to an internment camp. It doesn't matter that Aiko is American-born: They are Japanese, and therefore a threat to the American government. They cling to elements of their own life, as a mysterious disease spreads through the camp causing paranoia, violence, and death. When a team of secretive doctors arrive, they must team up with a newspaper reporter and widowed missionary to uncover the truth. Inspired by the Japanese yokai and the jorogumo spider demon, witness the danger of demonization and xenophobia.
