About the author

Lyanda Lynn Haupt is an ecophilosopher, naturalist, and author of several books, including The Urban Bestiary, Crow Planet, Pilgrim on the Great Bird Continent, and Rare Encounters with Ordinary Birds. A winner of the Washington State Book Award and the Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award, she lives in Seattle with her husband and daughter.

Evan Green began his career as a journalist in New South Wales. In 1953, a serendipitous conversation in the corridors of the Sydney Morning Herald promoted the young Evan to motoring editor and launched a career that would entwine his passion for motoring with his interest in writing.His career as a respected multimedia personality, international rally driver and the author of seven novels and four non-fiction books spanned forty adventurous years.
