Once a child in a domestically violent household, a young woman finds herself repeating the pattern of her past while trapped in a horrifically abusive marriage. But it only takes one person to change the course...

"Mile 0" is a tragically beautiful memoir that celebrates the breaking of a multi-generational cycle of domestic violence. Not all those who grow up in abusive households are doomed to repeat the model. Providing hope for those still stuck in the pattern, this book aims to inspire future survivors.

About the author

Pamela Miles is a Canadian-born, Pacific Northwest-raised hiker and artist. She is a mother of three adult children and recently married her partner in 2020 in a small ceremony on the trail of their first hike.

Miles spends most of her time advocating for the care and safety of children and healthy relationships. She is the first in her family to receive a bachelor's degree, and in 2018, she graduated with her Master of Divinity and is now an ordained ELCA Lutheran pastor.

In 2020, she suffered a brain bleed and spent the last year recovering from an intensive brain surgery and finishing this memoir.
