"The crowd was stunned. They came to this pro-gun rally with the intention of protecting their constitutionally protected rights. Many in the crowd were law abiding avid recreational hunters; some carried guns for self-protection, and some just loved collecting them.
They were secure in their beliefs and had facts to support their rights. They believed the Founding Fathers were God like and wrote the Second Amendment to protect them.
None of these beliefs seemed pertinent at this particular moment. This man's loss really hit home. They all had mothers and many had daughters or sons. Many could not help but forming a mental image of a loved one in a pool of blood.
Reasoning gave way to emotions, which usually drive human behavior. This man's emotional portrayal of his loss created a reasonable doubt in the pro-gun crowd's belief. Quietly the crowd dispersed without further debate."
