Do you know a child who is scared or feels uneasy during thunderstorms?

The Wonder of Thunder is a lighthearted children's rhyming picture book that helps tame fears while highlighting all the wondrous things thunderstorms can do. Children will adore Sally Storm, a lovable character who excitedly shares all the good she can do as she swirls and tumbles overhead.
This early learning picture book introduces the topic of storms, thunder, lightning and rain in a fun and non-threatening way. Colourful and captivating illustrations pull children into the story and hold their attention through to the end, where Sally shares more fun facts about thunderstorms and engages children through direct questions. A terrific resource for parents and teachers who wish to introduce children to the topic of thunderstorms, or help children who experience nervousness or anxiety during a storm. And after reading The Wonder of Thunder, don't be surprised if the next time the sky roars they look up and say "That's Sally!"

About the author

Sharon Purtill was a stay at home mom and entrepreneur when she stumbled into publishing in 1998. That year, along with her husband, she wrote and published her first book. That book's success took them both by surprise when it went on to sell tens of thousands of copies right out of their garage. Today, Sharon is an award winning author who publishes in multiple genres under a couple of different pseudonyms. The author is best know for her popular children's book It's OK to be Different (a rhyming picture book about diversity and kindness). Sharon's passion for writing, family and a positive life motivates her to create books that she hopes will enrich the lives of others. She hopes to one day escape the cold, and write from a tropical beach somewhere where her biggest concerns will be sand sticking to her suntan lotion and an empty margarita glass. But, for now, Sharon treasures the warm summer months and the time she gets to spend with family and friends in Ontario, Canada
