3D Bioprinting in Tissue and Organ Regeneration covers state-of-the-art advances and applications in bioprinting. Beginning with an introduction that considers techniques, bioinks and construct design, the authors then move onto a detailed review of applications of bioprinting in different biomedical fields (skin, cartilage, bone, vascularized tissue, etc.). This is followed by a chapter overview of intraoperative bioprinting, which is widely considered one of the important future trends in this area. Finally, the authors tackle ethical and regulation concerns regarding the utilization of bioprinting. The book is written by three global experts for an audience of students and professionals with some basic knowledge of bioprinting, but who seek a deeper understanding of the biomedical applications involved in bioprinting.--

About the author

Dr. Yang Wu is an assistant professor at Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, China. Dr. Wu has been doing research in this field since his PhD study from 2012. He is experienced in 3D bioprinting and regenerative medicine, particularly in the application area of connective tissue repair such as cartilage, bone, skin and tendon. His current research interests in 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering, include: scaffold-free bioprinting, applications of bioprinted structures in tissue engineering, electrohydrodynamic jet printing and electrospinning. He has published more than 20 research and review articles in renowned journals and books in the field, as well as 3 patents and several conference papers.Dr. Jerry Fuh Dr. J Fuh is a Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has devoted himself to the research of additive manufacturing or 3D printing processes and materials since 1995. In 2016, he and his colleagues established a 3DP-enable biomedical hub within the NUS premise across 5 different faculties, i.e., engineering, science, deign, dental and medicine, to be one of its few kinds to promote transnational works on biomedical and health-care research under the NAMIC, EDB and University Funding of more than SGD$18M.Dr. Ibrahim T. Ozbolat is a Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics Department, Biomedical Engineering Department, and Neurosurgery Department and a faculty member of the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, Materials Research Institute, and Center for Neural Engineering at Penn State. Dr. Ozbolat’s major research is in the areas of bioprinting and tissue engineering. His research has been widely published, received various awards, and has been featured in national and international media and press numerous times. He has delivered over 100 invited talks and keynotes at national and international forums and conferences. His technology spun off two start-up companies and he is an advisory board member for multiple leading companies in bioprinting.
