The monograph physico-chemical characteristics of automobile gasoline AI-80 with the addition of oxygen-containing components, in particular, ethanol. It is noted that methanol cannot be as an additive due to its toxicity. The gasoline-ethanol blended fuels have been investigated in detail. Advantages of using ethanol, it is noted that ethanol is even less toxic than gasoline itself. It has a higher auto-ignition temperature (423oC against 257-300oC).Besides, octane numbers of ethanol are higher than those of gasoline. A new method of obtaining alcohol from plants is used, which consists in introducing a gene into the cell that ensures the use of a large number of benzene converting cellulose into alcohol. Also important is the section of the monograph, where the furnace household fuel with the addition of a high-molecular fraction of sivushnogo oil, which is known to be a waste product of alcohol production, is developed. The monograph is intended for a wide range of specialists - oil workers, considering the future alternative fuels, as well as students of petrochemical direction.
