Brent L. Pickett is a professor of political science and dean at the University of Wyoming. He has also served as a visiting professor at institutions in China, Germany, and the Republic of Georgia. While his original training was in political philosophy, his research is notable for its interdisciplinary nature. His work has been published in Polity, The Political Research Quarterly, the Journal of Politics, the Cambridge Review of International Affairs, the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, law reviews, and elsewhere. He has done research on sexuality, gender, and reproductive rights for more than two decades. He is the author of the Historical Dictionary of Homosexuality, now in its second edition, and The Transgender Encyclopedia.
