Summary
How do you defeat the undefeatable?
Einar must take back control of his destiny in this thrilling Viking adventure. Although the rightful Jarl of Orkney, Einar is not yet strong enough to overcome his rival King Eirik and rule. Einar and the Wolf Coats raid the pagan ceremony that will confirm Eirik's power, but due to his injured sword hand, Einar fails to kill Eirik and the Wolf Coats must flee.
Chased by Eirik's longships, the Wolf Coats enter the dubious protection of Aethelstan, King of the English. Aethelstan hates the Wolf Coats of old – but instead of having them put to death, he has a better plan...
The Wolf Coats must sail to Brittany, to find the famous religious scholar Israel of Trieste. But Brittany is besieged by Viking hordes, and Israel is captive – taken by a mysterious Viking warrior known as the Bear.
Einar is chosen to infiltrate the Bear's Baltic stronghold and rescue the scholar. But is a man who cannot wield a sword capable of being a true Viking warrior? Einar's whole future is at stake – can he overcome his pride, and his injuries, and make it back alive?
