About the author










MICHAEL DENNIS BROWNE is Professor of English at the University of Minnesota. His previous books are The Wife of Winter and The Sun Fetcher and his awards include a National Endowment for the Arts poetry fellowship, a Bush Fellowship and Borestone Prize. With the composer Stephen Paulus he has collaborated on numerous works, among them song cycles, choral pieces, carols, songs for children, and a one-act opera. He lives in Minneapolis and the north woods with his wife Lisa and their son Peter.
