About the author

As a first-generation Indian-American, Ishita Singh has spent her whole life trying to find the balance of being “Indian enough,” while also “American enough” to fit in. It wasn’t until college, when she was at UC Davis studying economics and international relations, that she realized she didn’t have to choose one culture over the other. Over the last few years, since graduating in 2017, Ishita has spent her time working as a business analyst for multiple tech companies—and has made sure to bring her fashion sense to the office!

She draws inspiration from the beauty of our rangeen (colorful in Hindi/Urdu) world. What started with mixing clothing from both cultures has transformed into an Indo-Western aesthetic in jewelry. After work, Ishita enjoys playing with clay to create fluid and versatile pieces that blend cultures.
