"Where do the Seagulls sleep?" Is part one of a beach series between family and their children. Experiencing the ocean and it's wonders for the first time is a memorable outing between Stefan and his mother on this daylong adventure at the beach. Mom carries a big red beach bag to collect all the treasures of the day. Stefan finds out about the ocean from little creatures like dancing sand crabs to flying dolphins! It is exciting and yet relaxing. Mom remembers to bring lunch and let Stefan nap. In the end, they appreciate the wonders of the day and watch the sunset together, leaving Stefan still wondering -Where do the Seagulls sleep? Leah Kelly, writing under a pen name, started writing at the age of 8 years old, after she arrived in the United States with her parents. She was born in Brazil. She grew up in Maryland, became a lawyer with an extensive practice, fighting for those who were injured in the line of duty or without fault of their own. She was blessed with two sons, raised her family in Annapolis, and now resides on the Delaware shore near Bethany Beach. She has traveled extensively as president of the Maryland Sister States Board; and remains passionate in working on civic projects. A Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary and a lifetime member of Hadassah, she believes in giving back. She believes that mentoring is an obligation and has endowed a book scholarship for her alma mater, UMBC, named SomeOneCares. The Daily Record, a newspaper in Baltimore, named her Top 100 Women in Maryland in 2007 and 2014. She is a supporter of the Grael Project, in Niteroi Brazil, where children are taught sailing and vocations in sailing, in order to improve their life situations and champion the sport. Her love of family and the ocean inspired this series of the beach stories.
