Ethnicity is multi-vocal and ethnic boundaries are dynamic which is based on a dialectical interplay of similarities and differences among human groups across the globe in the social and historical context. The markers of ethnicity both objective and subjective constructs ethnic identity resulting in a form of ethnic boundaries. These constructed are boundaries are maintained sometimes by expansion and at times contraction with both continuity and change in the relative salience of the ethnic markers in the given social context.

Pradeep Acharya is a permanent Lecturer at Tribhuvan University, Nepal from seven years. He has a PhD (Anthropology) and Masters degree in Psychology. He has been teaching at various institutions from last 17 years. Currently he is a Researcher at Centre for Nepal & Asian Studies and Lecturer at Master in Social Work program at Tribhuvan University
